Actually, at the church camps I have attended, they pretty much like to sing what everybody else likes to sing: silly songs, folk songs, old time songs and other traditional campfire songs. At church camps, I find that whoever is running things likes to be as organized as possible, so usually singing around the campfire is not left to chance. The church campfires that I have been to usually included several church camp songs interspersed with stories. Some of the stories were fun and some were more spiritual in nature. Most of the time, the campfire would finish with one of the ecclesiastical leaders, like a priest, minister or bishop teaching one of the stories, parables or characteristics of Jesus. I am a Christian, so this article is from my viewpoint. If you are of another religion besides Christian, you could teach about your religion and/or prophets. All of the religious songs I refer to in this article are based in a Christian background. Below are listed some of the most popular church camp songs:Amazing Grace: This is one of the most beautiful religious songs I know. It is easy to play on the guitar with only three chords. It has one of the most recognized melodies. The song has even more meaning if you know the story behind it. The story is about John Newton, the composer of the song. It is an inspiring story. If you 'google' John Newton or Amazing Grace, you will find several resources. There is also a movie called Amazing Grace about John Newton. Down by the Riverside: Like most African American Spirituals, this is a pretty easy song to learn. Many of the lines are repeated, which makes memorization easy. In most spirituals there is only a difference of two or three words between verses. This makes it easy to learn several verses quite easy. Peace Like a River: This is another spiritual that is easy to learn. I Love the Mountains: Even though this song does not talk about religion or God, I still consider it a great church camp song. The reason I say this is because it talks about nature and all the beautiful things that God has created. It's pretty hard to sing this song without feeling gratitude and thankfulness for the many beautiful things God has created for us to enjoy. The Happy Wanderer: This song kind of goes hand in hand with the previous one. It's just a happy, feel good song about the beauties of God's creations. Kumbaya: Kumbaya is probably the all time most popular church camp song ever. It's easy to sing, easy to learn and just about everybody knows it. He's Got the Whole World: Here is another African American spiritual that is probably a close second in popularity to Kumbaya. You Can't Get to Heaven: This is a fun song to sing, even though I'm sure you won't be barred from heaven just because you're wearing roller skates. If your kids take it seriously, you might want to tell them that if they die with roller skates on or in a rocking chair, they can still go to heaven. Who knows; if they believe they can't get to heaven with roller skates, maybe they'll be more careful! This is one of those songs where you could make up your own verses. Peace Like a River: This is another one of my favorites. Easy to teach, easy to learn and easy to play on the guitar. It's also a very peaceful song if it's done right. This could be done slowly or medium tempo.

If you are looking for a particular church camp song that isn't here, try asking your pastor, priest or other church leader to help you. They will probably have some ideas for songs that are suitable for your denomination. If you decide to do hymns with guitar accompaniment, you might have to transpose to get it into an easier key. A lot of hymns are in flat keys, which are harder to play on guitar. Transpose it into a sharp key like G, D, A, or E.

You don't need to measure the sugar, just list the sweet foods. You may be surprised at the amount of sugar consumed. Whatever amount you think you are consuming it is probably 30% higher because of hidden sugars, e.g. sauces and breads. Include all treats and processed foods consumed.

If you accept that sugar equals pain, the more sugar you eat the more pain you will experience. I know it can be hard to give up your much loved snacks, especially if they are part of your stress management. We often eat to feel happier. The first step is to reduce your sugar intake, don't try to stop everything all at once, it may be too stressful. Start to introduce more fruit and nuts. Watch out for hidden sugars in so called healthy foods.
A common problem is to swap sugar for aspartame which will only cause you more problems. There are currently multiple class actions against aspartame. Safe alternatives are Stevia or Xyotol which you can purchase at any health food shop.
An important question to ask yourself is how does this pain affect my life and what am I prepared to do to gain relief. Don't forget that by reducing your sugar or corn syrup consumption you will also reduce your likelihood of obesity diabetes and cardiovascular disease. As usual with health issues one action or one problem will often have a flow on effect.
How quickly you make changes in your life will depend on your personality. It may be a lot, all at once or baby steps, gradually introducing change. Be careful who you discuss your plans with. Some people may be supportive but others may seek to undermine your efforts because it challenges some insecurity of their own.

Sugar is a direct driver of inflammation in the body. The best way of accessing your sugar intake is to keep a food & snacks diary for at least one week. You don't need to measure the sugar, just list the sweet foods. You may be surprised at the amount of sugar consumed. Whatever amount you think you are consuming it is probably 30% higher because of hidden sugars, e.g. sauces and breads. Include all treats and processed foods consumed.

If you accept that sugar equals pain, the more sugar you eat the more pain you will experience. I know it can be hard to give up your much loved snacks, especially if they are part of your stress management. We often eat to feel happier. The first step is to reduce your sugar intake, don't try to stop everything all at once, it may be too stressful. Start to introduce more fruit and nuts. Watch out for hidden sugars in so called healthy foods.
A common problem is to swap sugar for aspartame which will only cause you more problems. There are currently multiple class actions against aspartame. Safe alternatives are Stevia or Xyotol which you can purchase at any health food shop.
An important question to ask yourself is how does this pain affect my life and what am I prepared to do to gain relief. Don't forget that by reducing your sugar or corn syrup consumption you will also reduce your likelihood of obesity diabetes and cardiovascular disease. As usual with health issues one action or one problem will often have a flow on effect.
How quickly you make changes in your life will depend on your personality. It may be a lot, all at once or baby steps, gradually introducing change. Be careful who you discuss your plans with. Some people may be supportive but others may seek to undermine your efforts because it challenges some insecurity of their own.

Candlewick glassware had its humble beginnings in Ohio in the mid-30s. The Imperial Glass Company opened its doors in 1904 in Bellaire, Ohio, under the direction of Edward Muhleman, a gentleman who had much experience in the glass industry. With Muhleman's guidance, The Imperial Glass Company became one of the most preeminent glass manufacturers in the country. And while their glass was high quality it was also extremely affordable for the average family; this rare combination made Imperial glass soar in popularity.
In the early 1930s Candlewick glassware was developed by Imperial's Chicago sales representative, Earl Newton. Newton made adaptations to the French Cannonball line of glassware after having seen it on a trip to New York and being taken with its distinctiveness and elegance. Newton used this design as starting ground to develop what he believed would be a unique and timeless glassware line. His resulting design reminded Newton of candlewicking - a style of needlework popular in Colonial times and thus the name was born.
The Imperial Glass Company jumped onboard and released its Candlewick line in the summer of 1936. Candlewick glassware proved itself to be one of Imperial's best sellers, as customers lined up for these elegant pieces.
Today, collectors of Candlewick glassware continue to haunt antique stores for pieces to add to their collection. With the advent of the Internet, a whole new world has opened for collectors as they buy and sells their wares online. Internet resources have made the hunt for special pieces a much more convenient and affordable journey.

No study on Hymnology would be complete without "Amazing Grace." Amazing Grace is probably one of the most well-known, widely published and well-loved Hymns by all faiths. It has often been referred to in modern-day meetings as the Baptist Anthem. There is probably not a more accurate description of Grace than Amazing and this is truly the case when you consider the biographical background of John Newton.

John Newton was born in London in 1725 but at the age of 6, his mother died. She was a godly, praying woman who instilled in him the Word of God proving what the Bible declares in Proverbs, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." The song, Amazing Grace could very well be the testimony of John's conversion and Christian life. In its original form, there were six verses. The first three that are known and used now were written by John Newton. In its original publication in Olney Hymns in 1779 it bore the title "Faith's Review and Expectation."
As we explore the verses of Amazing Grace, from the very first verse we see Newton's knowledge of theology.
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found,
Twas blind but now I see.
The definition of Grace, according to Emory H. Bancroft, is "unmerited favor to sinners." The word Grace appears in the New Testament alone over 170 times. One cannot even read the title, Amazing Grace, without immediately being reminded of Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" It is Grace that saves us, Grace that keep us, Grace that leads us and Grace that will one day lead us home. What John Newton was saying about Grace, is that has a nice ring to it, I like the sound of that.
The line "that saved a wretch like me" draws our attention to the Depravity of man. Man is born without a spark of divinity; all men are born with the depraved nature of Adam. Scriptures that prove this are Romans 3:10, 3:23, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Galatians 3:22 and I John 1:8. The fact that John Newton realized that for man to see God there must be a new birth is also introduced in these lines. Acts 4:12 declares that there is no other name whereby we must be saved.
Salvation, Regeneration, is the only way to Christ. Man is born lost. He does not have to do anything to be lost, he is lost. The only way for man to get to Heaven is he must be quickened, made alive. And that is what regeneration does and is. Regeneration is that spiritual work by the Holy Ghost that imparts the new nature, the nature of Christ in a man. That is what is meant in the phrase, "I once was lost".
"Twas blind but now I see", man's lost condition is typified in the scriptures as blindness. No doubt John Newton had read the story of Jesus healing the blind man in John 9 where the blind man declared "Whereas I was blind, now I see".
The second verse of Amazing Grace,
Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
and grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear
the hour I first believed.
John states clearly, it is all of grace. He says the same grace that put me under conviction and condemnation, when I turned to Christ, it was that same grace that relieved all my fears, and it came the same hour, the same time that I believed. No doubt, the promise of Romans 10:9 of "believing in the heart" came to John's mind as he penned these words. That word believe has a strong meaning, to trust or entrust, to have faith in. The implication is illustrated by believing that a chair will hold you up but haven't really put your faith in the chair until you sit down in it. You believe it will hold you up and support you, but you have not demonstrated your faith until you commit yourself to it by sitting down in it. That is what the word believe means, to display your faith, committing yourself to Christ.
The third verse, if you know anything about the life of John Newton speaks much to the heart:
Through many dangers toils and snares,
I have already come.
Tis grace that brought me safe thus far
and grace will lead me home.
At the tender age of 6, after the death of his mother, little John set sail with his father, who was a sea captain. John later joined the British navy, but he was a very rebellious sailor. He even deserted the navy and was later caught, put in irons and publicly beaten. He later would become a captain of a ship himself, the captain of a slave ship. John was on a long trip from Brazil and to pass the time, he was reading a book entitled Imitation of Christ written three hundred years earlier by Thomas Kempis. Then came a terrible, horrific storm that almost sent the ship and entire crew into the ocean. After surviving this storm, this got John to thinking about life and about death. He knew he was lost, he knew he was a sinner. The teachings of his godly mother came back to mind and John knelt and repented and received the Lord Jesus. You can only imagine the storms and dangers that John had been through when he penned those words. He knew that it was only by the Grace of God that he was not dead and in Hell.
After being saved, John would trade his position for the pulpit. John, a lover of the sea, took a land job and studied for sixteen years and then was ordained in the Anglican Church and was assigned a pastorate in the small English town of Olney. It was there that he wrote the words of Amazing Grace, and he was absolutely right, How Sweet the Sound!!
John Newton wrote the first three verses of Amazing Grace and wrote these additional verses that we do not use and you may not know:
The Lord has promised good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Shall be forever mine.
The fourth verse that is in our hymn books, "When we've been there ten thousand years" is anonymous and was added in 1910 by Edwin Othello Excell in Coronation Hymns. The musical tune that we now use for Amazing Grace was composed by Edwin Excell in 1910.

How you file your taxes, via either U.S. mail or electronic filing, dictates how long it normally takes to receive a refund. Filing a return through the mail is, of course, the slower of the two processes. For those who mail their federal return, the IRS will remit a tax refund within six weeks after they have been received the completed return. If you file electronically, you should receive your tax refund within three weeks.
The IRS allows two options for receiving a federal tax refund: paper check sent via the mail, or an electronic funds transfer (also called a direct deposit). The direct deposit method, not surprisingly, is always the quicker option. The Federal 1040 form contains a section where consumers can opt for a direct deposit. If you want the IRS to electronically deposit your refund into more than one account you will need to file a separate form 8888.
How to Check on Your Federal Tax Refund
For anyone wanting to check the status of their tax refund, simply go to the IRS's Where's my refund (irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96596,00.html) webpage where you'll find an easy to use tool to request the information. If you would rather check the refund status by phone, you may call 1-800-829-1954. The IRS asks that you wait 3 days after filing electronically, or 3 weeks after mailing a return before checking for a status update. For those who file an amended return, however, the period to receive a refund check will take 8-12 weeks.
Tips on Ensuring a Quick Refund
By eliminating mistakes, consumers can ensure that their refund is received in as timely a fashion as possible. The most common mistakes, which can cause delays in receiving a refund, are listed below:
Social security number missing or incorrect
Incorrect tax result, given reported income and filing status, was entered
Mathematical errors in figuring the taxable income, withholding and estimated tax payments, Earned Income Credit, Standard Deduction for age 65 or over or blind, the taxable amount of social security benefits, and child and dependent care credit
Items entered on incorrect line, especially estimated tax and withholding
