Albert Einstein Vs Isaac Newton

The name Albert Einstein and Sir Isaac Newton are bywords of many people all through the walks of life. They are considered two of the greatest scientists of all time.

Albert Einstein (March 14, 1879- April 15, 1955) was a German physicist. His contributions to Physics started in 1905 that includes: the explanation of the Brownian motion in terms of Molecules, the explanation of photoelectric effect in terms of quantum in which he received a Nobel Prize and the Special Theory of Relativity that has become a major tool of Modern Physics. He also developed General Relativity Theory that was more accurate than of Newton's.

Albert Einstein's equation E=mc² (Energy = mass times the speed of light squared) paved the way for the creation of the first atomic bomb. Though he condemned the use of it, President Franklin D. Roosevelt approved the plan for an all out effort in atomic bomb. By the first week of August in 1945, the two bombs "The Little Boy" (Hiroshima Bomb) and "The Fat Man" (Nagasaki Bomb were already dropped, making a history. Einstein regretted what his invention has caused. He was considered one of the fathers of atomic bomb.

Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727) was an English physicist, mathematician, alchemist and natural philosopher. He was considered to be the greatest genius the world has ever known. His works in optics, gravitation and motion, corpuscular theory of light represents the greatest achievement of the time.

In his written study entitled Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica that was published in 1687, he described the three laws of motion and the universal gravitation. The discovery of Johannes Kepler of the three fundamental laws of planetary motion, which described the Copernican Theory, was only understood when Isaac Newton discovered the Laws of Gravitation and motion. He also described the principles of conservation of momentum and angular momentum.

Newton invented the reflecting telescope and developed a theory of color based on his observation that a prism decomposes with light into a visible spectrum. He formulated a law of cooling and studied speed of sound. This great scientist also demonstrated the Generalized Binomial Theorem, which developed the "Newton Method". He also shared credits in the development of the calculus with Gottfried von Leibniz.

Sir Isaac Newton also devised a numerical equation to verify his ideas about gravity. He called it inverse square law of attraction, which states that the force of gravity is related to the inverse square of the distance between the two objects

The year 1666 was the peak of Newton's achievements. He has this crucial experiment that became his most famous experiment, the experimentum crucis. This demonstrated the theory of the composition of light. This explains that a selected color leaving the first prism could not be separated by the second prism. He then had a conclusion made that white light is a Heterogeneous mixture of differently refrangible rays and that colors of the spectrum cannot individually be modified by themselves, but are original and connate properties. Newton has failed in his dynamics experiments in three periods of time; first during plague in 1664-1666, the investigations of 1679-1680, and the period 1684-1687. His masterpieces were written in three different books. He also pursued some other researches in alchemy and science. However, his nonscientific writings were being neglect by some historians.

Before his death Newton had refused the sacrament. It was believed that the reason of this gesture was because he was a Unitarian.

Quality Leather- How Do I Know?

How many times have we seen the advertisement claiming "Genuine leather" Or "Quality Leather". Just what is Genuine Leather, or Quality Leather, how do I know I didn't get ripped off?

First, what is leather. Leather simply stated is the skin of an animal. So as long as the material is made from the skin of an animal, they can claim "Genuine Leather". Quality leather is a different story. When you finish reading this, you will be able to look at a leather garment and tell immediately if it is quality or not.

You may or may not have noticed that the flea markets, grocery stores, drug stores, and warehouse department stores have been selling the "Genuine Leather" Coats, Jackets, backpacks and luggage. They are of a patchwork design, and usually lined. These are typically made of lambskin leather and being sold for unreal cheap prices. There is nothing wrong with lambskin leather. In fact it is the leather of choice for any leather that is worn close to the skin. The lining too is a benefit if it is used for comfort or insulation. The patchwork design is the first indication that this is poor quality leather. The patchwork design is because they swept the scraps off the floor from the manufacture of other garments, fed them through a machine to sew the scraps together, created another sheet of leather and made more garments. The leather itself could made of various grades.

Let's talk about grades of leather. There are 3 primary grades of leather:

Grade 1 or "full-Grain" clear, supple, and clean, is consistent in color, has the highest yield of over 90% and the surface is smoothest.

Grade 2 is less consistent in color, has a yield of 78% and the surface is slightly imperfect.

Grade 3 is a blotchy and very inconsistent in color, has a yield of 40% and the surface is very imperfect and will feel stiff, partly from the excessive coating needed to hide imperfections.

These grades are standard no mater what type of animal the leather came from. There are a lot of different types of animals that are used for leather. Everything from lamb to cow, and alligator to Ostrich. The two most popular for use in garments are lamb and cow. For the sake of this article we will discuss these two.

LAMBSKIN

The softest, thinnest, most supple skin. A Buttery texture and finely grained. Stretches well and tends to reshape after wearing - has a type of memory. Drapes well, flows, and has good movement - very form fitting.
Higher-end leather-wear. Classy and more fashionable look.

LAMB TOUCH COW or COW NAPPA

Thin, Soft and supple - close in look and feel to lamb but is not lamb. A Smoother finish and finer texture to cow hide. Lightweight - has good movement and draping ability.
Sportswear and outerwear. Dressed-up, fashionable look. Coats skirts, pants, and vests.

COW HIDE

Very tough wearing and durable. Heaviest of the cowhides. Very noticeable texture skin and grainy.
Mostly outerwear - especially jackets. Weekend casual, ready-to-wear.

Ok, now we know the different grades, and types of leather, how do we know we got the good stuff? First, use your eyes. A very good way to tell if you're purchasing a garment of HIGH-quality leather is to look at the seams and needle marks. If they seem to be a different color than the garment itself this could mean that the garment is dyed on the surface only - surface-dyed as opposed to aniline-dyed leather (dyed on both sides).

Surface-dyed leather is much different to aniline-dyed leather because surface-dying is like adding a coat of paint to wood. It merely covers up the wood's natural surface and defects. Aniline-dyed leather is like adding varnish to wood, varnish allows the woods natural beauty to shine through by penetrating the surface instead of covering it up. The natural beauty of high-quality leather is visible through a sheer, rich aniline dye.

Check the items for overall color and craftsmanship. While all skins contain some natural marks, there should not be any large unsightly blemishes on the piece you are inspecting. A good manufacturer of leather apparel will not use leather of 2nd or 3rd grade.

Next, use your nose. The garment should smell like leather, not chemicals. And while we are on the subject of chemicals, you want leather that has not been treated with Azo Dye. Azo Dye is toxic and has been linked to many skin reactions.

And lastly, feel it. Is it soft to the touch, is it smooth. It should be free of any bumps and it should flex easily. It should not be stiff and hard to bend.

Be sure to read my next article on how to care for your leather garments.

The Terrifying Link amid Alcohol and Hypoglycemia

Let's talk about hypoglycemia first.

The laymen's term for this condition is perhaps more familiar to your ears: low blood sugar. Hypoglycemia takes place when the blood sugar level of your body is depleted and becomes insufficient for providing energy. Are you familiar with the term "sugar rush"? That's what you get when you eat too much sugar and become hyperactive. Hypoglycemia however leads to the exact opposite.

Let's talk about alcoholism next.

Alcoholism is an addiction. When left unmanaged and untreated, it can lead to various medical complications that may be life-threatening. Once the body develops an unhealthy craving for alcohol, it's almost impossible to get rid of. Only absolute determination and willpower, with the help of medical professionals and therapeutic treatment, can the harmful effects of alcoholism be significantly reduced.

How the Two Comes Together

Various studies have provided substantial proof that alcoholism, or excessive drinking of alcohol, can indeed lead to hypoglycemia. There are several instances that the human body is incapable of multi-tasking and imbibing liquor is one of those times. Since your body is almost fully concentrated on breaking down alcohol, the liver is unable to produce as much blood sugar as it should. Without a proper level of glucose in your body, hypoglycemia is often the result.

Can Hypoglycemia Happen Every Time You Drink?

Fortunately, no. Hypoglycemia occurs more often than not when an individual makes the mistake of drinking too much with an empty stomach.

What You Can Do to Prevent Hypoglycemia While or Before Drinking

If you already know beforehand that tonight's festivities will include getting intoxicated, make sure that you eat a light meal or some snacks before leaving home.

If possible, check your blood sugar level before leaving as well.

Exercise regularly. No one gets sick because of a healthy dose of exercise!

Choose the type of food you eat carefully. While a diet consisting of a wide variety of foods is advisable, make sure however that you eat lots of high-fiber food and less of foods that are high on sugar.

How to Know If You Have Hypoglycemia

Watch out for the following symptoms as they'll let you know when you're in danger of passing out because of hypoglycemia: hunger, inexplicable perspiration, feeling nervous, light-headed, or sleepy, and having difficulties speaking.

If You're a Diabetic Alcoholic

Things are just not looking good for you. To avoid experiencing hypoglycemia in the most inopportune of times, make sure that you've consulted your physician about the following:
Medication - Is it possible that the medicine you're taking is the reason why you're experiencing low blood sugar? When, how often, and how much of it should you take?
Diet - Ask for dietary advice regarding food that's beneficial for a diabetic and an alcoholic.
Exercise - Strenuous activity has been known to sometimes cause diabetics to experience hypoglycemia. Ask how often should you exercise and if there should be any limit to how much effort you exert.

Other Possible Causes of Hypoglycemia

If you're planning to enjoy a merry night with your friends in a place where booze flows freely, make sure that you haven't recently experienced any of the following conditions:

Serious Illness - People who had recently recovered from a serious ailment in their liver, heart, or kidneys, are still highly vulnerable to experiencing hypoglycemia.

Pregnancy - If you're pregnant, you're more likely to experience hypoglycemia.

Lastly, remember that with all things, moderation is the key to success! Don't drink too much!
